St. Matthias offers many opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education. All parents are automatically members of the Home & School association.

The Home & School Association is a vehicle of:

Communication. H&S has two general meetings each year attended by all members of the Association (at least 1 parent per family is required to attend). The H&S Association communicates to parents via weekly mailers.

Educational opportunities. St. Matthias and the H&S Association are committed to providing formation opportunities for students, parents, and faculty. The H&S Association has hosted recent speakers on the topics of safety on the internet and Love & Logic.

Social events. The H&S Association hosts several social events throughout the year, including the first day of school parent social, dances, and High Interest Day. Click here to download a complete list of social functions.

Fundraising. The primary H&S Association fundraising events are the Mr. Z’s product sales and Entertainment book sales. The H&S Association also raises money through several other activities. Click here to download a complete list.

Activities and projects. Recent H&S Association-funded projects include contributing $23,000+ for new computers/server for the computer lab, 30 Smartboard clickers for classrooms, updating missing technology in classrooms and upgrading the phone system. Volunteers. Parent volunteers support all of the H&S Association efforts by serving as Coordinators for the various events and committees. Parents can get their volunteer hours by volunteering for many of the programs. Contact a board member to find out more.
