CHILDHOOD Woodrow
Wilson was born on December 28, 1856 in Staunton, Virginia. His father was a Presbyterian minister. Wilson’s family was always
moving from town to town in Virginia, to different Civil War shelters. In
high school and college Wilson was really into debate, and found and early
love in politics. For college, Wilson attended the national renowned
university of New Jersey, which today is know as Princeton. After he
graduated he liked the university so much, that he became a teacher. He later
got promoted after years of teacher to become the president of the
university. Politics In 1911 Wilson decided to put all of his debating
skills to the test as he ran for the governor of New Jersey. He later won the
election and maintained in power of
New Jersey until 1913. In 1913 the Democrat party decided that he would
become a strong candidate for the 1912 Presidential Election. His competition
would be William Taft out of the Republican Party and Theodore Roosevelt out
of the Bull Moose Party. It wasn't even a close race Wilson won with 6,296,547
popular votes, Roosevelt in second with 4,118,571 popular votes and Taft with
3,486,720. Mr.

As president Woodrow Wilson did many great things to
help our country. First, at the beginning of World War I Wilson decided that
America would stay neutral and try to prophet as much as possible off trade.
Eventually, Wilson decided to join the World War due to conflict with Central
Power Germany. They would join the Allies with France, Belgium, and Great
Britain. The
second thing he did was he created Selective Service Act. This act would
allow America to draft any person in the age of 18 to 21 to serve the country
in war. The third
and finally thing he did was on January 8, 1918 Wilson wet to Congress with
fourteen points that would allow the world peace from this ever happening
again. Congress said “Ok” and he took it to the rest of the world. In the end
the rest of the world signed to except America. The war was over and all
America wanted to do is forget about it. Wilson helped
are country through World War I, and many other conflicts. Wilson was an
American hero and will ALWAYS be remembered |
