Mrs. Lisa Krickeberg

Hello and welcome to St. Matthias Parish School!   My name is Mrs. Krickeberg and I teach first grade in Room 115.  My classroom is in the Beloit Building, just down the hall from the school office. 

Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.   This is my fourth year on the teaching staff of St. Matthias Parish School.  I have seventeen years of teaching experience, seven of those years spent at the middle school level and ten years at the lower primary level.  My husband Jay and I have four children.  Our two oldest are graduates of St. Matthias.  James is a junior and Jenna a freshman.  Both attend Waukesha West High School.  Our two youngest daughters are in 6th grade here at St. Matthias Parish School.  We are members of St. Matthias Parish Church.  I am a member of the adult handbell choir.  My husband is a member of the parish council and an usher.   

The first graders here at St. Matthias Parish School work really hard.   Our weekly schedule covers Religion and all the academic areas (reading, language arts, spelling, phonics, handwriting, math, social studies, science and health).  We have specials each week such as art, music, physical education, computers, library, Spanish and guidance.  We are also paired up with a sixth grade classroom for Star Partners! 

I believe that every child can be successful.  I strive to make my classroom environment one that will provide positive learning experiences for all.  One of my goals is that my classroom will be a place that children feel welcome to enter and where learning is made a fun and memorable experience.  I also believe that good communication between home and school is vital.  My students and their families are kept informed with frequent newsletters updating them on what is going on in our classroom and around the school.  Parents are always welcome in my classroom and encouraged to volunteer with classroom activities.
