Cara Sardina

¡Hola todos! 

Me llamo Sra. Cara Sardina y soy maestra de español.  Hi, I am Señora Sardina, the Spanish teacher at St. Matthias.  Let me take a moment to tell you a bit about myself.  A native of Milwaukee, I attended Carroll College in Waukesha.  While in college I studied Elementary/Middle School Education as well as Spanish.  My Student Teaching experiences had me teaching first grade at Waukesha’s Banting Elementary and seventh grade Spanish at Kettle Moraine Middle School.

While working on my degree I had a great opportunity to teach Spanish for the community-based company, Futura Language Professionals.  Futura goes to schools that don’t have a Spanish program and offers it to interested students as a before or after school program.  Through this experience and many others I have truly grown in my love for educating children.

I am thrilled to be teaching Spanish at St. Matthias.  I truly believe that knowing a second language can open many doors for the future and research has shown that the younger children are exposed to a language the more fluent they become.

It is my hope that all students are successful in my class and that they enjoy themselves in the process.  While I currently do not have any set homework help times, students are always welcome to stop by my office or set a time to meet with me.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  If you are in the building, please feel free to stop by and say “¡Hola!”
