What is Confirmation?
With Baptism and the Eucharist, Confirmation is one of the sacraments of Christian initiation; the Church teaches that receiving Confirmation is tied to the “completion of baptismal grace” and strengthens the baptized to witness to the faith in word and deed.

Why is Confirmation important? (focus on mission + discipleship)
Confirmation “perfects Baptismal grace” and helps a young disciple be rooted more deeply as a child of God, united more firmly to Christ, strengthened in communion with the Church, and sent into the Church’s mission as a witness in daily life.

What happens at Confirmation?
In the Latin Rite, the Catechism describes the essential rite as the anointing with chrism (with the laying on of the hand) and the words “Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.”
