Weekend Bible Study

If the Church could focus on just one practice to help people at every stage of spiritual life grow closer to Christ, the evidence is compelling: invite, encourage, and equip God’s people to read the Bible—especially by praying with Scripture and discovering its meaning for daily life. (Move: What 1,000 Churches Reveal about Spiritual Growth, p. 19)

Grow in your relationship with Christ through Scripture.
Join us each week for our Bible Study of the Weekend Readings, where we’ll explore the upcoming Sunday readings and reflect on how God’s Word speaks into real life today.

  • When: Thursdays, 6:30–8:00 PM

  • Where: Parish Office Conference Room

  • Cost: Free

  • Commitment: None—come when you can

Stay connected: Sign up using the form above to receive our weekly email with the readings, brief commentary, and reflection questions—an easy way to prepare your heart for Mass.

Let Your Light Shine

Adult Retreat - October 3, 2026

Were you made to shine?
Jesus says, “Let your light shine”. But before we can share that light, we are first invited to recognize it, receive it, and trust that God has placed it within us.

At St. Matthias Catholic Church, this October retreat for adults will focus on the call we receive through Baptism to live as disciples of Christ in the world. Grounded in the Sermon on the Mount and Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:13-16, we will reflect on what it means to be salt and light for others.

This retreat will also invite us to listen more deeply for God’s call in our lives and to trust that we were each created with unique gifts, purpose, and a light meant to shine.

Participants can expect:

  • prayer and reflection

  • Scripture-based inspiration

  • personal renewal

  • meaningful conversation

  • encouragement for everyday discipleship

Come and be reminded that the light of Christ is alive in you.
