High School Service Opportunities
Faith grows when we put it into action. Explore service opportunities for high school students to share their gifts, meet others, and make a difference in our community. Whether you can help for a day or take part regularly, there’s a place for you to serve. Take a look at the opportunities below.
Day of Service: Volunteers Needed
Join us as we live our call to serve others! High school students are invited to take part in a morning of service at St. Matthias Catholic Church on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Serve at Franciscan Shore
High school students are invited to help clean up the garden areas at Franciscan Shore on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Join us for a morning of service and help care for this community space!
Location: Franciscan Shore, 3221 S. Lake Drive, St. Francis, WI 53235
Transportation: Families should arrange their own drop-off and pick-up.

Sandwich Making
High school students are invited to gather at St. Matthias in Steiger Hall to make sandwiches and put their faith into action. Join us for one Saturday or come throughout the year. Each sandwich making session runs from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
2026–2027 dates: November 14, December 12, January 16, February 20, March 20, and April 17.
Sleeping Bag Ministry
High school students are invited to help make sleeping bags for neighbors experiencing homelessness on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to noon in Steiger Hall at St. Matthias. Volunteers tie layers of blankets together, so no sewing experience is needed. Sign up below to join us for this hands-on morning of service!

High school students are invited to serve at CareNet Ministries on Saturday, January 9, 2027, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. We’ll help with light cleaning, sorting clothing donations, and preparing mailings.

Serve with Catholic Charities
High school students are invited to spend a morning serving at Catholic Charities’ Adult Day Care Center on Monday, March 22, 2027, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Join us for an opportunity to put our faith into action and spend time with others in our community.
